Su nacimiento, en Olot<\/strong>, en 1942, coincidi\u00f3 con el nombramiento de su padre, Llu\u00eds Carbonell<\/strong> como profesor de dibujo<\/strong> de la Escuela de Bellas Artes de su ciudad natal. Esta efem\u00e9ride familiar traer\u00eda consigo una infancia<\/strong> rodeada de juguetes<\/strong> at\u00edpicos: carboncillos, pinceles, pinturas y telas.<\/strong><\/p>

Posteriormente, este contacto directo le llevar\u00eda a dedicarse plenamente a la pintura<\/strong>, a la escultura<\/strong>, a la escenograf\u00eda<\/strong> y a la ense\u00f1anza<\/strong> de las artes pl\u00e1sticas. Hoy, Juan Antonio Samaranch, presidente del Comit\u00e9 Ol\u00edmpico Internacional (COI), hace entrega de su cuadro<\/strong> La paz y el sol a la sede de la Unesco en Par\u00eds.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

A ra\u00edz de que su mujer, la escultora Rosa Serra, present\u00f3 ante el Museo Ol\u00edmpico de Laussane su obra La suite ol\u00edmpica, Xavier Carbonell<\/strong> conoci\u00f3 al director del museo quien le pidi\u00f3 que donara un cuadro<\/strong>. El cuadro<\/strong> caus\u00f3 tal impacto que Juan Antonio Samaranch no se lo pens\u00e9 dos veces y le encarg\u00f3 otro, cuyo tema fuera la paz, para ser donado a la Unesco<\/strong>.<\/p>

Tras dos a\u00f1os de gestaci\u00f3n, hoy la figura de varios ni\u00f1os africanos rodeados de palomas y del sol perenne de su continente \u00abque representa el inconveniente del mismo y a la vez su fuente de vida\u00bb, colgar\u00e1 de las paredes de un organismo cuyo esp\u00edritu es la pr\u00e1ctica diaria de Xavier Carbonell<\/strong>: la educaci\u00f3n, la ciencia y la cultura.<\/p>

La ense\u00f1anza acad\u00e9mica de Xavier Carbonell<\/strong> comenz\u00f3 con sus correr\u00edas infantiles por el taller y academia de su padre \u00abMe encontraba inmerso en un mundo lleno del lenguaje y del hacer art\u00edstico\u00bb. A los 15 a\u00f1os, sus proyecciones laborales<\/strong> eran dos: \u00abTrabajar en un banco o en el taller artesano de mi padre\u00bb. No tard\u00f3 mucho en decidirse y escogi\u00f3 lo segundo.<\/p>

As\u00ed comenz\u00f3 su perfeccionamiento en dibujo<\/strong>, pintura<\/strong>, escultura<\/strong>, cer\u00e1mica<\/strong> y grabado<\/strong> y a participar en todo tipo de concursos<\/strong>. Expone por vez primera a los 22 a\u00f1os y obtiene el premio del II Concurso de Pintura de Olot por una obra<\/strong> enmarcada en el paisaje urbano de su tierra, y que despu\u00e9s culminar\u00e1 con Homenaje a Gaud\u00ed, realizada en 1977.<\/p>

Su inter\u00e9s por \u00abvivir in situ<\/strong>\u00bb los quehaceres art\u00edsticos le lleva a viajar a Par\u00eds para deambular por los lugares y paisajes \u00aba veces t\u00f3picos, pero reales\u00bb, dice Xavier<\/strong>, del ambiente bohemio que despu\u00e9s se \u00abtransforma en inspiraci\u00f3n\u00bb. Esta experiencia<\/strong> traer\u00e1 consigo una nueva tendencia, la del intimismo<\/strong>, que despu\u00e9s reflejar\u00e1 en cuadros dedicados a la mujer, los ni\u00f1os y al entorno popular: El molino, La paloma y Caf\u00e9 de Perpi\u00f1\u00e1n.<\/p>

\u00abMe comenz\u00f3 a preocupar tambi\u00e9n el mundo del espect\u00e1culo, tras dibujar<\/strong> a unas cuantas vedettes de la Scala\u00bb. Fue as\u00ed como se inspir\u00f3 para realizar una obra<\/strong> sin precedentes: la representaci\u00f3n iconogr\u00e1fica<\/strong> de las \u00f3peras mas famosas como La Boheme, Aida y Otelo.<\/p>

Ni su vida \u00edntima se escapa del marco art\u00edstico<\/strong>: convive a ratos\u00bb desde hace 18 a\u00f1os con la escultora Rosa Serra. \u00abAs\u00ed siempre estamos deseando vernos\u00bb, se\u00f1alan ambos.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
