Rafael Atencia

Rafael Atencia

Rafael Atencia. Castro del Río (Córdoba), 1954

Scholar of the Spanish classical schools, especially the Baroque Sevillian of Murillo.

He began his pictorial studies with the master C. Toledo continuing his training with the Artistic Circle of San Lluch in Barcelona.
In his works we appreciate a perfect balance of colors and shapes. His plastic is subtle and delicate, the brush does not stain the canvas, rather he caresses it, with great affection and delicacy. His figures are serene, very humanized, very intimate when viewed with interest. The landscapes are of very good invoice and a pleasant and serious color, very well studied and with character.

The lyrical poetics retains in its fullest meaning a harmonious whole set that makes the works something positively accommodating and pleasant
Rafael Atencia is a sensitive man and artist who stops his gaze and his experiences in the everyday and simple, in that mute dialogue that he engages with the things of the world around him. He knows how to penetrate the hidden beauty of shapes and lines and knows how to play with them in such a way that the result is beautiful, pleasant, calm and full of inner peace. There is a beautiful play between the content and the continent and the link between the two gives his works a particular stamp of personality.

Atencia's painting fulfills one of the most basic functions that our generation had to necessarily assign to the plastic arts, those of elements of compensation-light, transparency, harmony, spirit .....
